Welcome to Smolverse, a growing Internet community based around digital monkey collectibles
Smolverse launched in 2021. People who drew a picture of a “Smol Brain” were able to mint a free Smol Brains NFT and start their journey. Smol Brains is CC0 artwork, which means anyone can help contribute to the Smol story as part of the public domain.
Our community includes over 30,000 NFT users, artists, musicians, game designers, and other creatives helping to build out this world together.
he Smolverse digital collectibles were given away for free to the community. The collectible set currently includes Smol Brains, Smol Bodies, Smol Jrs, and Smol World NFTs. The Smol characters are evolving NFTs, meaning they change in size and appearance as their IQ increases. Users can send their Smol Brains to school to increase their IQ or spend Rainbow Treasures to upgrade their Smol to a rarer version. The Smol World NFT allows Smol Brain holders to watch their monkey living its life inside an evolving world like the Truman Show. The Smol team specializes in something called on-chain art?

Most NFTs are not actually stored on the blockchain. The NFT simply contains a link to artwork stored somewhere else. Smolverse NFTs are “on-chain,” which means the entire image has been turned into bytecode and stored on the blockchain so it can never be lost. The lead developer for Smolverse was one of the first pioneers of on-chain art. Smol Brains were the first evolving character NFT in which the user’s character actually changes based on user activity like a Tamagotchi rather than being a static profile picture.
Smolbound is a life-sim game based on Smolverse being built out by Darkbright, a Treasure-originated studio led by veteran game designers from Guild Wars 2 and Big Fish Games.
